Sensei Chris Simpson and Sensei Katie Simpson

Sensei Chris Simpson (2nd Dan) runs the Kingswood Dojo of along with his daughter Katie Simpson (2nd Dan). The club is affiliated to the Shukokai Karate Federation (SKF) and Karate England.

Sensei Chris started training in Karate in 2000 after following his daughter Katie to National and International tournaments and taking photographs for the SKF and Kimura Shukokai International (KSI).

“Whilst watching the training and action through the lens of a camera, I realised just how much was involved in the understanding and development of Kimura Shukokai Karate. On returning from the World Championships in Berlin 2000 I vowed that I would start training and since then, as I reach one target, another is set.” (… Chris)

Sensei Chris has trained under experienced instructors and he currently trains with Shihan Eddie Daniels (8th Dan) and Sensei Mark Kosmas (5th Dan) and has been a member of the SKF National squad since 2004 representing the veterans in Kumite (sparring) events in various European and World championships. Sensei Chris is CRB checked and First Aid trained.

Sensei Katie Simpson (2nd Dan) has been training since the age of 8 and has represented the SKF in National and International tournaments since 2000 becoming World Champion in Kumite in 2004 (Cape Town-South Africa) and European champion in 2003 (Berlin-Germany) and 2005 (Tallinn-Estonia). Sensei Katie has also had the privilege of training under the four 8th Dan World Chief instructors, Shihans Eddie Daniels, Lionel Marinus, Chris Thompson and Bill Bressaw.
 
Sensei Katie has been an assistant instructor with Sensei Chris since the Kingswood Dojo started and brings a wealth of experience to the club.
